EXQUISITE 19THC.MILANESE LACE BANQUET TABLECLOTH W/L'INDUSTRIA,RENAISSANCE PAINTINGS. A fantastic bobbin lace tablecloth for the discerning lace or linen collector.A rare design on this cloth, with images of L'Industria and Renaissance paintings in the design.A long while ago, I had some other items from the same collection, these linens were apparently made for a very rich American collector. The collection itself was one of the very best that came on the market that I have seen.. almost 45 years and many beautiful linens that have passed through my hands, this collection was quite extraordinary.A rare design with fantastic scrollwork, images of ladies in period dress with raised three dimensional work on some of the designs. There is a large central oval design at the center that is surrounded by ornate scrollwork and sections with fruit and flowers. One could easily expound on this cloth but in the end, the reality ..is that it is exquisite .. that it took a tremendous amount of many fine hours of fine workmanship . and was created by a superb designer. Measuring approx. almost 153-155" long by 72" wide or 393.8cm by 182.88cm. A exquisite tablecloth of the serious collector.
