CIRCA 19THC.FINE LAWN CHRISTENING GOWN W/WHITEWORK,VALENCIENNE LACE. This gown is quite a beauty!! Lovely fine lawn has used in the gown and fine whitework insertions that alternate with Valencienne lace and ribbon insertion. It is beautiful and quite a frothy concoction. There is pin-tucking and long ties that were meant to tie in a bow at the back.The ties have some damage but one can remove,repair or just shorten if desired.A few tiny openings but mainly very good strong condition.This is a item perfect for baby or a lovely doll. I personally love these earlier gowns... there is a age of innocence in their construction, they are sublime and elegant in every way. What a wonderful picture one can seeing the mind ..ladies in their wonderful fine lawn dresses and babies and children in these glorious dresses. This was a radiant time!!
