CIRCA 1900, ORNATE APPENZELL LACE CUSHION COVER. A very ornate Appenzell lace pillow case with a embroidered floral shaped vignette containing ladies in a pastoral setting. The workmanship is detailed and extremely fine. The ladie's dresses covered in pretty designs and there are floral swags and gardens in the vignette.There is Drawnwork around the vignette and then a edging with Drawnwork and insets of Appenzell embroidery.Measuring approx.22" by 18 1/2".The detailed work s beautifully done, this is a item that is so much nicer in person as one can see the elaborate work on the trees, and the detailed faces and costumes.In vey good condition, seems almost unused.
