CIRCA 1800-1820, RARE LADIES EMPIRE GOWN W/LUMINOUS BUGLE BEADS. I simply love this era... such refinement and simplicity on these early gowns which were so flattering in their day.This dress came from a important New York museum deaccession many years ago. Items from this deaccession were quite magnificent and in truth probably should not have been deaccessioned... still for me, it was wonderful, as the items I bought were all superb and rare. This gown is superb.. elegant and has a ethereal quality to it. Bugle beads are sewn throughout the gown with bugle beads also on the edge of the sleeves. In very good strong condition, a few minor spots and perhaps some missing beads but overall, in very good strong condition.
