CIRCA 1860's, GRACEFUL BRUSSELS LACE TRIANGULAR CAPE/SHAWL
A lovely large Brussels needle and bobbin lace cape shawl measuring apprx.117" across at the center, apprx.46"across top edging, approx. 80" down each bottom side edge and 40" at widest part. In centimeters..297.18cm 203.2cm by 101.6cm. There are wonderful large floral and foliate bouquets,meandering floral vines throughout the lace ,elaborate scrollwork and lovely scattered Point De Esprit throughout the shawl. In very good condition, One small area on edging needs to have net ground added, absolutely minor in relation to the good strong quality of this shawl..The design is quite beautiful.In good condition, part of a museum deaccession.
