CIRCA 16-17THC. ITALIAN RETICELLA INSERTION LACE BORDER. A wonderful early insertion lace! The lace is made with cold flax thread and has a intricate design.These borders were mainly used for linens, Church items and narrower borders were used for linen clothing in the early centuries.Measuring approx.30" by 3 1/2" wide. In very good strong condition, one opening on edge.The lace has it's original cream patina.
