CIRCA LATE 19THC. NEEDLE LACE OVAL WITH RENAISSANCE PAINTER, CORREGGIO. A hand made Needle lace oval with a central oval vignette that contains a figural image with the Renaissance painter Correggio worked on one side. It rare design in lace, and good quality workmanship in the oval. Measuring approx.29" by 11 1/2". In good strong condition, the lace has it's original cream patina. lace like this would have bene specially ordered ,one does not easily find items like this.
