CIRCA 1900's, SUPERB LARGE FIGURAL LINEN NAPKINS W/ APPENZELL EMBROIDERY. A wonderful set of twelve large fine linen napkins with lovely Appenzell whitework embroidery. The design is very ornate with lovely ladies in assorted figural dresses contained in scrollwork vignettes. The workmanship is very precise and detailed.There is drawnwork in the vignette and also all around the scalloped edges. Measuring approx. 23". The linen is excellent, linen of this quality was usually reserved for the best of items. In good strong condition, laundered.The napkins seem almost unused.
