RARE EARLY FLEMISH LACE FALL CAP. A rare Flemish ladies fall cap measuring approx.almost 30" long by 10" at the widest part. The lace has it's original cream patina and has come from a good museum deaccession.The scale of the work is tiny and filled with small florets ,vines and leaves. The lace is in mainly very good strong condition but there are some scattered brides that need to be seen to, also one small age spot.. Overall most of the lace is fine. and strong.The lace seems unused or rarely used ..so I think the brides happened because of storage . It would be nice if a a lacemaker could reattach the brides . I have not come across a Flemish fall cap before so I think this is nice item for the early lace collector.
