CIRCA 19THC. EXCELLENT BURANO LACE SCHOOL, VENETIAN ROSE POINT. A beautiful long border that is possibly made by the Burano lace school , a wonderful design on this Venetian Rose Point. During the 19THC. there were important schools in Italy and some very rare and beautiful pieces were created there. Measuring approx. 78" long by almost 3"wide. The design of beautiful florals with raise cordonnet on the florals and leaves are precise and perfectly executed.The lacemaker was certainly a master of her craft. Some of the very best lace was made in Burano and this is a excellent example. of the best of lace made during that time. In very good unused condition, the lace has it's original patina.
