CIRCA 1900, LOVELY ITALIAN FIGURAL NEEDLE LACE PLACEMAT. Excellent work on this very ornate Italian Point De Venise placemat or tray cloth. A large round vignette contains a decorative column with a urn with flowers.A lady in detailed classical dress has a child she is holding while the child holds a bird in his hand.There are large roses in each corner and elaborate scrollwork all around the large vignette.Measuring approx. 17" by 11 1/4".The lace has it's original cream patina and seems unused.
