SUPERB ROYAL SOCIETY LINEN TABLE RUNNER. Circa 1880-1900, a superb linen table runner with a gorgeous design and exceptional embroidery. Measuring approx.63" by 18" wide. The silk polychrome colors are beautiful on the flowers, vines and leaves . The raised satin stitch embroidery is quite wonderful The flowers and leaves all have hand made lace fillings and there is Drawnwork all around the edges of the runner. This is the very best example of Royal Society embroidery. Item needs a gentle wash, otherwise in very good strong condition. This does not seem to have been used.
