LINEN TABLE RUNNER W/NEEDLE LACE FIGURES AND BRUSSELS LACE. A very pretty long linen table runner measuring approx. 61-62" by 19 1/2" wide. There is a 9" edging on both sides of the Brussels Duchess lace with Point de Gaze roses on either end. Further up there is a oval needle lace vignette on each side, one depicting a man and the other a woman. The woman seems to be feeding small chicks and a large chicken. The man is feeding birds.The needle lace is very fine on these two figures , there is quite a lot of good detailed work.At the center there is a large piece of Brussels lace with shaped vignettes filled with Point De Gaze roses with raised petals The table runner is in very good strong condition, there might be two repairs in the lace or perhaps just strengthened on the edge, they blend in because of the very ornate designThis would look lovely on a table or chest of drawers.
