EXQUISITE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE LAPPET W/ROSES. A stunning Brussels Point De Gaze lace lappet with exquisite design and workmanship. The hand made ground is almost entirely covered with the most beautiful needle lace. There are large heirloom roses with raised petals, lovely fine garlands, vines and leaves with amazing tiny Needs lace fillings that are quite a work of art.Measuring approx. 57" by almost 6" at the widest point. In very good condition, a few tiny spots need Q-tip attention. This lace was preserved so well in this collection. There are approx. 10 large roses with lovely raised three dimensional petals and numerous other florals in the design.The lace has it's original patina and seems rarely used, quite possibly unused. This lace was certainly designed by a Master designer from one of the important firms during the 19THC. Exquisite design and workmanship on this beautiful lappet.
