CIRCA 1860's, BURANO LACE BERTHA COLLAR. A elegant design on this Burano lace collar.there are garlands and lovely meandering vines and florals throughout the collar.The workmanship is very good.The collar measures approx. almost 40" by 7 1/2" wide. These collars were very fashionable in the 18060's and were worn around a ladies shoulders but they actually can be used in many ways. they are very versatile. In good strong condition, a few small openings and tiny spots in ground. The collar needs to be laundered.The lace has it's original patina and seems either unused or rarely used.
