CIRCA 1800's, ORNATE LADIES HANDKERCHIEF W/LAVISH WHITEWORK EMBROIDERY.Quite magnificent both in design and in the level of fine workmanship.This handkerchief was never used and is still on it's original fine lawn. It is actually a work of art! For those who love whitework this handkerchief is a true gem.The detailed work on all the flowers, the swaying leaves in the design, the tiny trellis work and superb ovals filled with tiny florets ,all this beautiful work can actually leave one speechless. Suffice to say, those who understand how such perfect work could have been made and what it took to create such beautiful workmanship easily understand th accolades .This is not a ordinary handkerchief. This was designed by a Master and created by a Master lacemaker. Measuring approx. 16". The handkerchief of course was never used and so is in mainly excellent condition, one tiny opening and unfortunately where it was folded there are a couple of openings. A wonderful item for the collector.
