EXQUISITE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE COLLAR AND CUFFS. This beautiful set is absolutely stunning not only in the design but in the perfect workmanship. One rarely finds such fine workmanship and so this set was probably designed and commissioned by one of the very important lace making shops in Brussels at the time. The elaborate scrollwork and the tiny needle fillings are quite amazing, they are so tiny that it is almost quite unbelievable that a lacemaker could produce such fine work.The deep scallops are also quite lovely and are very unusual . It is very rare to find a set like this! The set seems unused and has it's original cream patina. There is one opening on edge of cuffs otherwise in superb good strong condition. I consider this piece absolutely superb. A lovely set for a museum or a very serious collector.
