CIRCA 1890-1900, EXQUISITE CANTON SILK HAND- EMBROIDERED SHAWL. Quite a stunning shawl! A early handmade Canton silk embroidered shawl with a wonderful design. Large beautiful roses with raised satin stitch embroidery, assorted large flowers and leaves with Peking knot embroidery, meandering vines and florals in lovely polychrome silk throughout this exquisite shawl. The design is gorgeous and the workmanship is of the highest order. Measuring approx. 65" with additional 24-25" macrame fringe around the shawl. This item seems unused or rarely used and is in good condition.
