C. 19THC.RARE TAMBOUR LACE COLLAR W/LONG LAPPETS,RIBBON, VALENCIENNE LACE. Quite rare and beautiful! Circa 1880-1900, Edwardian era pelerine and lappets with long pretty embroidered wide lappets containing embroidered floral, ribbon work insertions and edges with Valenciennes lace.There is original ribbons on the edges but also at the back of the pelerine. A perfect item for display on antique clothing of that era as these rarely turn up in the marketplace. This item is part of a collection that came from a very prominent New England estate.many of the lace pieces seemed unused.The lace has it's original cream patina and is in good strong condition.
