CIRCA 100's.ELABORATE BORDER OF VALENCIENNE LACE. Quite beautiful, both in design and workmanship. Early laces like this are remarkable because of the fine flax thread that was worked by the skilled lacemaker. The laces seems much heavier in the pictures but lace like this is as light as a feather.The design is lovely with undulating vines and large florals throughout the border. Measuring approx.26" by almost 2 1/2". In very good condition, a few small age spots. The lace has it's original cream patina.
