CIRCA 1700-1800's RARE POINT DE FRANCE NEEDLEPOINT LACE SHAWL COLLAR. Quite amazing workmanship on this superb Point De France shawl collar. Measuring approx. 20" around neckline and 15" wide.The design is intricate with scrollwork and small flowers ,leaves and vines throughout the lace. Point de France lace was made from the 1600's up until the 1800's.The lace was used for trimmings and was worn by both men and woman throughout the centuries. the lace is mainly in very good strong condition, there are some scattered bars that need connecting, minor in relation to the good strong condition of the shawl.
