CIRCA 1890-1900, EXQUISITE WHITEWORK EMBROIDERED SHAM W/CROWN,BIRDS. A beautiful early fine lawn continental pillow sham. The lawn has a gossamer ethereal quality, lawn like this was only used on very important items. This item has the Royal crown so one can assume this might have been done for a member of the nobility.There are large ornate ovals with wreaths and swags with lovebirds , a beautifully crafted monogram with a crown worked on top of the of the vignette. Measuring approx. 30" by 28" with additional embroidered scalloped edging measures approx. 3". In very good strong condition, one small opening. A lovely item for the whitework collector.
