CIRCA 1890-1900,ELABORATE SILK CANTON SHAWL W/PAGODAS,FIGURALS,BIRDS. Quite a beautiful Canton silk embroidered shawl! the luminous cream silk embroidery is on a black silk background and the opulent design has numerous lanscaped gardens, figurals, sages, pagodas and other architectural building, bridges, wisteria trees,peacocks and other varieties of birds, animals and butterflies. Measuring approx.63-64" with additional deep Macrame edge that measures approx. 22". In very very good strong condition, a few tiny pinprick openings near edges that are totally minor. This shawl seems unused and came from a museum deaccession.Please also see the other shawl that came from this museum's collection.
