CIRCA 19THC. ORNATE BRUSSELS LACE SHAWL WITH POINT DE GAZE LACE.Elaborate handwork on this Brussels lace shawl with large lovely oval vignettes on each end filled with florals and leaves. Measuring approx. 89-90 " by 12-12 1/2" in centimeters approx. 228.6cm by 30.48cm. The fine net ground on the vignettes is also handmade.In very good condition, a couple of tiny openings, absolutely minor. This piece seems as if it was rarely used so in very good strong condition.This item came from a very good collection of Brussels laces, which were all kept in impeccable condition.
