STUNNING EARLY CREAM SILK FLOUNCE W/BEAUVAIS EMBROIDERY,ROSES,FLOWERS,LACE. Circa 18-19THC. a beautiful skirt flounce made of luminous silk satin with the most wonderful design and also with superb workmanship. The skirt flounce was unfinished in some parts but overall the main design was worked on with such elaborate and fine embroidery. One side is different from the other so this must have been part of a larger project, perhaps for a early dress. The flowers are delicate and so very fine while the undulating vines and leaves are sheer perfection..there is a ruched area with ribbon and lace and then pink satin with a cream silk embroidered garland of florals and underneath that part a long trim of flowers with wax beads.At the very end of the flounce another flounce of lace..Measuring approx.69 " long by 21" for the width of satin.In very good strong condition, a few tiny spots ,overall wonderful condition.
