CIRCA 19THC. SUPERB BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE SHAWL W/ROSES. A beautiful Brussels Point De Gaze lace shawl measuring apprx. 102" by 19-20" wide. A wonderful design, the ground on this lace is handmade and almost entirely covered with the design. There are large three dimensional roses measuring almost 3" , the ornate raised petals are superb. There are large floral bouquets, meandering vines, fine scrollwork with tiny needle lace fillings and scattered Point de Esprit throughout the lace. There are more than 80 roses with raised petals and there are also other flowers and tulips with raised three dimensional petals. A stunning design and excellent fine workmanship on this shawl.In mainly very good strong condition, there are a few small repairs but because the shawl has such a ornate full design, they tend to blend in. The shawl has it's original cream color.
