CIRCA 19THC.BRUSSELS LACE SKIRT W/POINT DE GAZE ROSES. Quite a lovely Brussels lace skirt! The design is ornate and sublime, with undulating vines, florals and leaves and scrollwork throughout. There are fine Point De Gaze roses in the lace and the lace is scattered throughout with Point De Esprit.Measuring apprx. 27" around the waist, 42" at front and apprx 43-45" at the back.The top layer of lace falls gently over the bottom ruffle and combined with the cream lining ,the skirt is quite voluminous. The circumference at the bottom of the skirt measures apprx. more than 135". The waistband and lining might have been added at a later dater or it might have been original. One could easily create a beautiful wedding dress or even wear it as is.The skirt is quite beautiful. In very good strong condition, I see only one spot on top of waistband, absolutely minor.(Item#AL649)
