EXQUISITE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE SHAWL W/THREE DIMENSIONAL ROSES. This sumptuous and beautiful Brussels Point De Gaze lace shawl is probably the very best I have come across over the many years.The design is quite majestic and the workmanship is sublime.There are so many beautiful and large three dimensional roses, many measuring apprx 3". There are large wonderful bouquets,spectacular scrollwork, meandering vines and other florals in the shawl and scattered throughout delicate Point De Esprit which always adds yo the ethereal quality of the shawl.The abundant scrollwork vignettes have superb needle lace fillings throughout the shawl.Measuring apprx. 115 by 25 inches wide (292cm by 63.5cm). There are approx. more than 125 roses in this shawl,suffice to say absolutely incredible in itself. This was so well kept, it retains it's original cream patina.there are a few storage stains that will come up,MINOR.this shawl is in the very best condition. The shawl has a hand made ground,something that was usually only found on the very best Brussels lace items made in the 1800's. Museum quality. (Item #AL647)
