CIRCA 18THC.FINE MECHLIN LACE BORDER. A lovely fine cream long border of Mechlin bobbin lace measuring apprx.66 by almost 2 1/4inches. (167.4cm).The lace has a profuse and ornate design with floral swags,stylized florals and foliage with scalloped edges and picot edges.In very good condition, a few tiny missed stitches or openings.This lace seems unused or rarely used and has been kept very well in acid free tissue paper.Part of a good collection of early laces.
