CIRCA 19THC. 202" OF LAVISH ORNATE IRISH CARRICKMACROSS LACE. Quite ornate handwork on this very long and wide Irish Carcickmacross lace. The lace has it's original cream color patina ,but could be bought up white as all lace was colored with tea infusions in those days as opposed to dyes.Measuring apprx. 202" by 21" wide,513.08 cm by 53.34 cm.The net is almost entirely covered with undulating vines, flowers and leaves with tiny flowers also all along the scalloped edges.Part of a museum deaccession of lace. This seems as if it was never used, a few tiny openings, a very small repair along a flower, absolutely minor. In very good strong condition. (Item #AL632)
