CIRCA 19THC.ELABORATE MILANESE BOBBIN AND NEEDLE LACE TABLECLOTH. Excellent design and workmanship on this earlier Italian Milanese tablecloth. The combination of bobbin and needle lace is very attractive. The central large area has a lovely bold design of long elongated florals ,vines and arching leaves. Measuring apprx.104-105 " by 70-72" wide.This item came from a very good lace collection in New York. Items had been stored away for many years and laces and linens from the 17THC. This cloth is in mainly good strong condition but two edges have repairs and openings. There are some scattered brides that need to be seen to . Someone skilled perhaps, or replace the two edges if need be. There is fine good handmade lace throughout this piece. (Item #ALT126)
