EARLY ITALIAN, SARDINIA FILET LACE W/BOBBIN LACE EDGING.Measuring apprx. 18 1/2 by 8 1/2" a long flounce of handmade Filet lace with handmade Bobbin lace edging. The design has a serpentine vine throughout with pretty tendrils at the top of the design and meandering acorns in the design. Part of a deaccession from a estate in New York ,this has the original French and Co. tag.many of the laces in this collection were 16-19THC. and so perhaps 1850 but also possibly earlier as French and Co. were importers of very early laces too.In very good condition. There is a tremendous amount of work that went into this piece and the design is very unusual.This was attached to a fine net at some point. (Item #AL624)
