CIRCA 1600's,EARLY LACIS OR FILET FRONTAL WITH PRIMITIVE ANIMALS,BIRDS. A long early panel with fringe on three edges. A primitive design with horses and birds. Many of these fringed laces were used as altar frontals or to decorate the home.Measuring apprx. 83 by 9". On good strong condition, a tiny area of heading missing near one edge. Lace needs to be laundered, the tag on it says it came from the firm of French and Co. They were major importers of textiles, lace antiques in New York dating from the late 1800's.(Item #AL623)
