CIRCA 19THC.LADIES FINE SILK BROCADE SHAWL WITH ROSES.A lovely shawl from the 1800's measuring apprx.almost 70 inches with additional 8" for surrounding fringe. There are large brocade florals against the trellis design,apprx 50 large florals alternating between smaller florals florets. The silk is in good strong condition, there is a wear area less than a inch where there are a couple of openings in silk,one 2"darker age related stain, some scattered dot spots.Overall it is rare to find early shawls like this in perfect condition. this one has strength and I have tested a few areas and the silk has not split. So a great shawl for collector, for display on costume etc.(Item #ALC52)
