SUPERB BRUSSELS'POINT D'ANGLETERRE" LACE FLOUNCE W/ROSES,HYDRANGEAS. Circa 1850-60's a very beautiful Brussels lace mixed Needle and Bobbin lace flounce measuring a incredible 10 yards ! Measuring apprx 360" by 22".. in centimeters 914.4cm by 55.8cm. The design is opulent with lavish large roses, hydrangeas,petunias,daisies, morning glories, undulating floral and leaf swags and acanthus leaves. There are oval vignettes with fine detailed needlelace, ornate scrollwork and scattered Point De Esprit throughout the lace flounce.The design is exuberant and sumptuous. The tag attached says Point D'Angleterre".The lace is in very good condition, there are a few breaks in the ground but lace seems rarely used. A beautiful design and quality workmanship.(Item #AL605)
