CIRCA 1860's,ELABORATE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE TRIANGULAR SHAWL.Rare and very beautiful! Part of a important deaccession of lace from a New York museum. Encrusted with fine workmanship ,the design is elaborate and the shawl is filled with large floral bouquets,roses,hydrangeas, shaded leaves,vines and many assorted florals. There is scrollwork throughout the shawl and scattered Point De Esprit through the shawl. Measuring apprx.98-102" by 48" at widest part. In very good strong condition, there are a few small areas with different color brown, just need to treat these.Shawl seems rarely used but was in storage at the museum,kept in good condition.
