A lovely lawn bedspread and shams with a superb large ornate whitework monogram. the whitework embroidery is superbly done, the monogram elegant and graceful. the bedspread measures apprx.92" by 69-70" with additional 9" whitework embroidered scalloped ruffle all around. The matching shams measure apprx. 26" with 5" scalloped and embroidered whitework ruffle.This rare set is in very very good condition.The lawn has that gossamer ethereal look and feel, these items were usually considered summer spreads and were used during the late 1800's-early 1900's.The bedspread and shams have extremely fine handworked Drawnwork and hem stitched designs around the center of bedspread and shams with more work on outer fields and and all around inner edges. There is whitework embroidery all along the scalloped edges.Simply a beautiful and elegant set!!! (Item #ALB41)
