ORNATE 19THC. CHRISTENING GOWN W/VALENCIENNE LACE. Circa late 1800's, this lovely fine linen christening gown has a voluminous skirt and bodice. There are numerous layers of ruffles with fine insertions of Valencienne lace and whitework with wide wings all down the bodice and skirt on each side.The gown has wide ties edged with lace along the edges and lace around neckline and sleeves.This gown is certainly impressive! in very good condition and has been laundered.Measuring apprx.39-40" long , 3 1/2" across armhole.Apprx 11-12" across chest with drawstring and wide linen ties that tie into a large bow if desired.Excellent workmanship and design.
