EXQUISITE 19THC.ALENCON LACE W/BASKETS,FLOWERS AND BOWS.A superb Alencon lace measuring apprx. 33" by 6" wide. The design is very rare and ornate, with baskets overflowing with florals, flower swags, bows and scalloped edges filled with scrollwork and tiny Needlepoint fillings. The lace is extremely beautiful and seems rarely used.It has its original cream ecru patina and was never washed. In overall very good condition, a few tiny openings and what seems like a few small repairs, done so well I am not sure if some are repairs or just were done when lace was made.I consider minor,but buyer is welcome to view and return.It is extremely rare to find a design like this. This was part of a very good collection of lace,many that were museum pieces. We also have another long length of this lace that we will be listing soon. (Item #)
