RARE BOBBIN LACE BORDER W/CHERUBS,FIGURAL,BIRDS. Circa 18TH-19THC.A wonderful piece with a rare design and excellent workmanship. The scene seems to depict a King or Knight or Norse God? with two servants offering up crowns. there are knights or soldiers,urns filled with florals, trees with birds on the branches and cherubs in the lace.There are apprx. ten figures, four birds and four cherubs in the design.Heraldic shields seem to be under the Royal figures in the lace and there are meandering vines,florals and tendrils with raised work in the lace.Measuring apprx.38" by 5 1/4".The lace is in good condition.(Item #AL353)
