CHANTILLY LACE SHAWL.Circa1860's,this fine handmade Chantilly lace has a opulent design.There are large Roses,Hydrangeas, Poppy flowers,Daffodils and other flowers worked in the design with large elegant fern leaves, flower swags and ornate scrollwork throughout. This is a beautiful garden scene...worked with the finest thread. Sometimes one should be astonished by this level of beauty created by a human's hand. It is quite amazing! Measuring apprx. 109" by 55-56" at widest part or 279.4cm by 142.2cm at widest part.One small repair, hardly noticeable otherwise in very good condition. The shawl is a work of art. (Item #AL313)
