CIRCA 19THC.SUPERB WHITEWORK HANDKERCHIEF W/CROWN, HERALDIC SHIELD. A wonderful lawn handkerchief with heraldic shield ,with lion and hound and at the top of the shield is a crown.The handkerchief was made for a member of the nobility and so is a lavish example of the finest Whitework embroidery.The handkerchief measures apprx 15" and is surrounded by hand made Valencienne lace.In mainly very good strong condition, but there are a few areas with openings in lawn mainly in one area. Part of a museum deaccession.Excellent design and the finest workmanship.(Item #ALW10)
