CIRCA 1900's,ITALIAN TABLECLOTH W/ROMAN GODS,ANIMALS.A Italian linen tablecloth with assorted Roman and Greek gods.The linen squares are very fine with raised satin stitch embroidery and cutwork with handmade Filet squares and assorted borders and fillings of Reticella lace.The designs include Ceres, the goddess of hearth,home and family, Ceres, the goddess of Fertility and Agriculture,Euterpe,the muse of music, Flora,the goddess of Spring. There are other Filet squares depicting rites of Spring, animals and birds.Measuring apprx. 60"by 61-62".In mainly very good condition,there is one 22" area on Filet edge with damage and some repairs. Some work needed, otherwise good. One can repair or use for cushions etc.( Item #ALT69)
