CIRCA 1800's, FINE AYRSHIRE LACE CHRISTENING GOWN.Circa 1830-1850's, exquisite Ayrshire whitework embroidery on this lovely gown.The high bodice has ornate embroidery with more embroidery on the wings and double capped sleeves.The entire front skirt panel is worked with floral swags and small floral bouquets that become larger in scale as they progress down the panel.The finest linen has been used, feels almost as if it is silk!The whitework garland of flowers makes it's way around the entire bottom part of the gown. The workmanship is of the highest order! one repair on back edge opening, otherwise very good strong condition.(Item #ACC125)
