CIRCA 19THC. FINE AYRSHIRE LACE CHRISTENING GOWN. Excellent workmanship on this lovely Ayrshire christening gown heavily embellished bodice..The wings on the gown have whitework embroidery and tiny scalloped edges with ornate embroidered design on the sleeves and three layers of ruffles .The skirt panel has a wide border on the edge of the gown, with undulating vines, leaves and flowers and a similar leaf swag makes it's way up the gown. Lovely wide wings at the side and whitework and scalloped edges all around the edges of the gown.Measuring apprx. 39", 9 1/2" across bodice.Good condition. (Item #ACC127)
