ELEGANT 19THC AYRSHIRE CHRISTENING GOWN.CIRCA early part of 1800's, a fine and elegant Ayrshire christening gown with a ornate bodice,capped sleeves finely worked and a beautiful front panel decorated with roses and meandering vines and elongated leaves.The pyramid design of florals is enhanced by wide wings on either side which have a undulating vine and flowers along the edges of the wings and the same design all along the edges of the skirt.The gown is made with the finest gossamer linen.Measuring apprx. 47" from shoulder down to edge of the skirt. One small opening near back opening, otherwise very good condition.(A wonderful ethereal gown with excellent workmanship and a beautiful design.Item #AC113)
