CIRCA 1817, FINE GOWN W/WHITEWORK EMBROIDERY.A lovely early gown with empire waistline.A simple neoclassical design with whitework embroidery on the bodice, sleeves,wings and on the edges of the gown. The decoration included the finest pulled thread work,stiletto hole sand a simple leaf and flower garland design worked in padded satin stitch .A lovely diagonal design that was extremely popular during the times.The addition of fine bobbin lace and Dorset buttons.
