RARE BRUSSELS POINT DE GAZE LACE HANDKERCHIEF W/HERALDIC CREST,CROWN. A very beautiful Appenzell embroidered center, a heraldic shield witha crown and Fleur De Lys motifs from France. Superb work on this Royal insignia. A heavily embellished Brussels Point de Gaze lace surround with masses of roses, flower swags, undulating vines and leaves and round vignettes filled with tiny Needlepoint fillings. This handkerchief was part of a very rich estate. It seems as if the lace was specially made to surround the Royal crest.In good condition, a few tiny openings,minor.(Item #ALH28)
